Eradication of Karuvelam Using a Bioeconomic Model.

Abstract—This project gives the effects of karuvelam at Attayampatti village situated in Salem District, TamilNadu. A bio economic model is used to eradicate the Karuvelam trees. This model is divided into two components as ecology and economics. Numerical simulation and scenario analysis are obtained to eradicate them and finally a simple fuzzy logic based Mamdani model is used to view the proportionality between the growth of karuvelam trees and the ground water level.

In Vitro And In Vivo Assessment of Theantitrypanosomal Activity of Methanol Leaf Extract of Annona Muricata(Meam) on the Blood Parameters Of Trypanasoma Brucei Brucei Infected Albino Rats.

Abstract—This study investigated the anti trypanosomal activity of the methanol leaf extract of Annona muricata [MEAM] in albino rats experimentally infected with Trypanosoma brucei brucei. A total of 32 adult male albino rats weighing between 78g and 100g were used for the study. They were randomly assigned into 4 groups ¬¬of three rats each for the acute toxicity study and 4 groups [I-IV] of 5 rats each for the In vivo study. Groups I and II were infected intraperitoneally with 1.0 ×106 trypanosomes suspended in 0.2ml Phosphate Buffered Saline[PBS]on day 8 of experiment. Group I was treated with 200 mg/kg of MEAM orally every day for 3 days following detectable parasitaemia [4-5days of post infection]. Group II was treated with 7.0 mg/kg of diminazene aceturate intramuscularly on day 14 of experiment [6 days post infection]. Group III served as the uninfected untreated control while Group IV was uninfected and treated orally with 200mg/kg MEAM. Parameters such as Parasitaemia, Packed cell volume [PCV], Hemoglobinconcentration, Total leucocytes count, Differential leucocytes count. The acute toxicity test and the in vitro anti trypanosomal activity of the extract were studied using standard methods prior to commencement of the study. The results of the acute toxicity test showed the LD 50 of the MEAM to be 447 mg/kg whereas the LC50 of the extract was recorded at 0.01mg/mlin vitro. The pre patent period of infection was 3days. Treatment with diminazene aceturate cleared the Parasitaemia in group II. An overall significant decrease[P< 0.05] in PCV and Hemoglobin was observed in the infected groups. Similarly, a significant decrease [P< 0.05] in total leucocytes count was also seen in the infected groups. Treatment with MEAM showed increased Parasitaemia, indicating that MEAM showed an In vitro anti trypanosomal activity and no anti trypanosomal activity In vivo. It is recommended that parental routes of administration of MEAM should be employed for further studies of anti trypanosomal activity of MEAM.

The Effect of Drying on the Phytochemical Composition of Azadirachta Indica Leaf Extract.

Abstract—Azadirachta indica (Common name Neem) belongs to the family of Meliaceae. It is planted both for ornamental and medicinal purposes and recently in Northern Nigeria and other Sahel regions to check encroachment by Sahara desert. A survey by the United Nation Commission for Trade and Development (UNCTAD) indicated that about 33% of drugs produced in the developed countries are derived from plants. The fresh leaves of Azadirachta indica were collected from Nsukka towns. Some of the fresh leaves of Azadirachta indica were sun dried. Phytochemical studies were carried out on the crude aqueous leaf extracts (decotion of both the fresh leaves and dry leaves) using standard phytochemical methods (Chemical method and thin layer chromatography method). The result of the study showed that both fresh leaves and dry leaves extracts (decotion) contain the following phytochemical; Reducing sugars, Flavonoids, (Qucertin, 3-Rutinoside, 3-Rhamnoside) Saponins, Anthraquinone, Tannins, Steriodal aglycone, Cardiac glycosides, Cyanogenic glycosides, Terpenoids and Sugars (Fructose, Rhamnose, Xylose and Mannose). The result of this study showed presence of vitamin C in the fresh leaves extract (decotion) of Azadirachta indica but was not detected in the dry leaves extracts. This showed that drying affects phytochemical contents of this medicinal plant. Therefore in preparing this folk medicine, It is very necessary to use fresh leaves to ensure retention of phytochemical properties after preparing the herbal medicine.

A Compact O-shaped Printed ACS fed Monopole Dual-band Antenna for 2.4 GHz Bluetooth and 5GHz WLAN/WiMAX Applications.

Abstract—In this research paper, a compact O shaped printed ACS fed monopole dual band antenna is proposed for the reduction of mutual coupling in addition with applications of 2.4GHz Bluetooth/WLAN, 4.9 GHz US public safety band and 4.776 GHz WLAN/WiMAX. It consists of an O- shaped radiating branch and a rectangular uniplanar ground plane, with dimensions of 20 x 12.5 x 1.6 m^3. In the design, proposed radiating structure has been printed on a low cost single layered substrate FR4. By properly tuning the radiating branches electrical lengths, two independent resonant frequencies can be obtained and tuned independently. The presented antenna also exhibits omnidirectional radiation patterns with acceptable peak gains for the desired 2.4 GHz Bluetooth band, 4.9 GHz US public band , 4.776 WLAN bands and 6.368 GHz WiMAX band applications.

Reduction of Isolation in MIMO Antenna Using Rupee Shaped Structure.

Abstract—A novel concise Rupee shaped micro strip patch antenna with CPW (Co-planar Waveguide Feed) is designed, which is used for Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems. The described two element MIMO system reproduces at a dual band of 4.696 GHz and 7.723 GHz with an enhanced impedance bandwidth of 33.33% and a minimized mutual coupling of –35.3 dB. These results are better when compared to a normal E shaped, H shaped, U shaped patch antennas plotted with identical size and thickness, obtained without using any further decoupling methods. A 2×2 MIMO system employing the Rupee shaped patch antennas is analyzed using computational electromagnetic ray tracing software for an indoor environment. The described antenna is a good choice for MIMO systems operating for several Ultra Wide Band (UWB) applications.

Design and Verification of ASIP- Dual Modified Key Generator Based Encryption for Cloud Storage.

Abstract—Paper work proposed a new 2^n+1 modulo multiplier for dual key IDEA encryption in the design which generates less number of partial products (≤ n 2) and the less area at very high speed. The multiplication is based on Wallace tree along with specialized shifting. Coding with different combinations of eight rounds is been done at gate level i.e. fully dataflow modeling style for high throughput.. New modulo multiplication is been proposed in which multiple patterns can be done with less area. The string matching module is coded and functionally verified using VHDL language targeting Virtex IV pro FPGA and performance measures in terms of speed and resource utilization. Our work is mainly based on designing an efficient architecture (IP) for a cryptographic module for secure data trafficking and a network intrusion detection system for a high speed network. The complete designs are coded using VHDL language and are verified using Xilinx-ISE simulator for verifying their functionality.

Vertex Corse grain FPGA has been used for the design of the work hence the area can be minimized also the mix modeling architecture is been used. The architecture is designed in Xilinx EDA using Verilog HDL and verification of the design is been done of ISE. The result in terms of speed and area are found better.

Abstract—A Correct diagnosis of Tuberculosis (TB) can be only stated by applying a medical test to patient’s. The result of this test is obtained after a time period of about few days. The need of this study is to develop a Data Mining(DM) solution which makes diagnosis of tuberculosis as accurate as possible and helps deciding if it is reasonable to start tuberculosis treatment on suspected patients. In this research, we proposed the classification techniques to predict the existence of tuberculosis. we propose efficient Decision Tree algorithm technique approach for Tuberculosis prediction. Today medical field have come a long way to treat patients with various kind of diseases. Among the most threatening one is the Tuberculosis which cannot be observed with a naked eye and comes instantly when its limitations are reached. Bad clinical decisions would cause death of a patient which cannot be afforded by any hospital. The Decision Tree algorithm technique classifies the most usual types are: (i) Latent Tuberculosis,(ii) Active Tuberculosis. is an accurate and reliable method of tuberculosis patients. This study has contribution on forecasting patients before the medical tests.

Challenges in Implementing the Ethical Norms in Research on Autistic Children in the Indian Context.

Abstract—Human subjects are used in numerous research experiments, clinical or non clinical, which involves collection of data from them and later, analysis of data. The participants are exposed to primary risk of the research when the researcher attempts to collect, use and apply information accessed from the participants. This makes ethics in research a very vital subject while conducting research in human subjects.
Research with children adds more dimensions to ethical norms where permission from parents / guardians are also required. Further, the magnitude of this vulnerability intensifies while research is conducted on children with special needs and protecting their rights and welfare become imperative.
This paper looks into the issues on conducting research on autistic children. The intermingling of ethical principles, participants rights, research goals, socio-cultural context and working with very vulnerable special population brings out crucial issues for the researcher on implementing the ethical goals, which are discussed in the present study.
This paper aims at identifying the challenges in implementing the ethical norms in research on autistic children in observation based studies in the Indian context. The participants are extremely vulnerable children with special needs. The objective of the paper is also to highlight the Indian socio-cultural environment which plays a critical role in research on human subjects.
Finally, the paper arrives at tentative recommendations on how to treat autistic children as research participants and suggests appropriate modifications of current guidelines, wherever required, so that ethical norms are widely understood and adhered to. The need for awareness about ethical norms in research on human subject is stressed on.
The present paper is based on case studies on 42 autistic children to develop diagnostics and therapeutic test batteries for the autistic children as reference. The challenges in implementing ethical norms while conducting research studies on these children are underlined.
To discuss these vital issues, the study looks into the guidelines issued by the World Medical Association (WMA), the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences (in association with World Health Organization WHO), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Committee for Ethics in Social Science Research in Health (NCESSRH).
The paper identified the challenges in the Indian context so that ethic norms are widely adhered to. Appropriate suggestions suitable for children with developmental disorder based on Indian context have been made. A research work on autism should contribute towards the welfare of the autistics and just treatment of participants in research calls for special attention.

Finally, for each block a measure of dispersion based in radius distribution, considering the maximum sparse criterion is proposed.
